Photos of a Rare Blue Moon in Colorado on All Hallows’ Eve. This October, 31 2020 a full moon also happened to be a “blue moon.” This is a designation given to the second full moon to occur during a calendar month. Blue moons are fairly rare as well, occurring an average of only every 2.5 years. The last one in March 2018. The next one will be in August 2023.

Photographs of the Rare Blue Moon in Colorado
The following camera gear was used in the Photography of the rare blue moon as seen in Colorado:
- the Nikon Z50 (APSC) with Three Legged Thing L-Bracket,
- a Really Right Stuff TVC 34L tripod,
- with a Really Right Stuff BH-50 LR Ballhead,
- and an AF-S NIKKOR 200-500mm f/5.6E ED VR lens with a Really Right Stuff Tripod foot,
- a Nikon FTZ Lens Mount Adapter for Z50 and the AF-S NIKKOR 200-500mm.
The Z50 exposures for the images average between 1/5 and1/40 of a second at f/11.0. The native ISO of settings of 100 was used on the Nikon Nikko Z50 and all images are captured as RAW files. The focal lengths in these images range from 390mm to 500mm. A few images used exposure compensation from -1EV to +1EV. We also used Adobe Lightroom Classic CC to process all of these images. All photos of the blue moon were single exposures.
