Gear Used to Photograph Notchtop Mountain Marigold Pond at Rocky Mountain National Park

The following camera gear was used in the Colorado Landscape Photos of Notchtop Mountain at Rocky Mountain National Park:

• a Nikon D810,
• a Nikkor 14-24mm, f/2.8,
• the Nikkor 24-70mm, f/2.8,
• a Nikkor 105mm, f/2.8,
• a Gitzo CF6X Mountaineer 2 tripod (GT2530),
• with a Really Right Stuff BH-40 LR Ballhead,

The 6:52am morning exposures for the Notchtop Mountain and Marigold Pond images averaged between 1/4 of a second and 3 seconds at f/11. We used the camera’s native ISO of of 64. Our later morning photos of Hallett Peak and Bear Lake used a circular polarizer. Those images were exposed using an aperture of f/22 at 1/6 of a second. The Notchtop Mountain and Marigold Pond images were taken with the Nikkor 14-24mm lens. Our Hallett Peak and Bear Lake images were photographed using the Nikkor 24-70mm, f/2.8 lens. We used a 105mm, f/2.8 Micro-Nikkor lens for the close up photos of the aspen leaves. Some of the images were created by combining 5-7 exposures at one full stop apart. This HDR process was done in order to capture the high dynamic range of the early morning sunrise. The panoramic images of Notchtop Mountain and Marigold Pond with the clouds and boulders were created by stitching together 13 images.
